The party is held to celebrate and in aid of the incredible work of The BRIT School and
We Are Family Foundation.
The BRIT School welcomed Nile back last autumn to thank him for the incredible financial support he and his manager, Merck Mercuriadis, made possible for the School from the inaugural BRIT Awards Viewing Party – which raised over £258,000 – as well as the guidance and opportunities he has given many students, which included inviting them to perform last summer at the critically acclaimed Meltdown Festival at London’s Southbank Centre.
To acknowledge Nile’s efforts on their behalf the BRIT School unveiled the naming of the Nile Rodgers Music Wing on their campus.
Nile Rodgers and his manager Merck Mercuriadis said, “We are delighted to be bringing our friends from music, film, entertainment and the city together again to celebrate The BRIT Awards at The Ned. Last year’s inaugural party was launched with our friends in the City in mind. In our work with our Hipgnosis Songs Fund Ltd we’ve learned that there is a tremendous passion for music in the square mile and this is our way of being able to give everyone access on music’s biggest night of the year while supporting the important work of The BRIT School and We Are Family Foundation”.
