Rita Ora, Kesha and Zara Larsson join LITTLE MIX at BST Hyde Park
This week, American Express presents BST Hyde Park announced the biggest girl band in the world Little Mix as the first headliner for 2020. The foursome, Perrie Edwards, Jesy Nelson, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirwall, are hitting the capital on 4th July!
Now there will be even more girl power at BST Hyde Park, with special guests Rita Ora, Kesha and Zara Larsson added to the line up, plus more to be announced. This is a bill that celebrates female artists by putting them at the centre.
With her soulful vocals and joyful energy, British-Albanian singer Rita Ora made her debut in 2012 when she appeared on number 1 single ‘Hot Right Now’ with DJ Fresh. She stayed at the top of the UK charts with her first album Ora and since then, Rita has become one of the UK’s most loved female talents for so many reasons. She wowed as the host for the 2017 MTV Europe Music Awards when it took place in London and was celebrated as a judge on both ITV’s The X Factor and BBC talent show The Voice in 2015. Her last single ‘Let You Love Me’, taken from her triumphant sophomore effort Phoenix in 2018, was her 13th UK top ten hit. And then there’s the 1.3 billion streams her songs have enjoyed on Spotify alone…
LA singer Kesha is continuing the party on 4th July! She raced to the top of the charts with her 2009 debut single ‘TiK ToK’, along with other party anthems ‘We R Who We R’ and ‘Your Love Is My Drug’ – also bringing the best glitter-filled live shows of the 2010s. Seven years on, Kesha offered to the world Rainbow – an emotional and authentic album full of raw deep cuts. She’s now returned to her pop roots and earlier this month, released her celebratory new song ‘My Own Dance,’ the latest single off her upcoming album High Road.
Also joining the girls at BST Hyde Park is the Swedish phenomenon, Zara Larsson. Ever since she first broke out, at age 10, as the winner of a Swedish X-Factor style TV show, Zara has never been shy about her ambitions for superstardom. She’s been doggedly working her way toward global dominance since then, collaborating with everyone from BTS to Clean Bandit and David Guetta. At just 21, Larsson is a modern day music icon and provided the soundtrack to everyone’s summer with hits like ‘Lush Life’ and ‘Never Forget You’. Her most recent LP, So Good, was streamed over 3 billion times on Spotify.
Over the past 8 years, Little Mix have achieved the extraordinary – forming as a group on X Factor in 2011 and winning the series, to becoming genuine global stars. Now, they are headlining American Express presentsBST Hyde Park – a festival that has featured some of their biggest idols – in the city where it all began. In 2014, the group supported the legendary Tom Jones and now they return for their own show with the headliner status they deserve.
The news comes after the group’s triumphant European tour LM5: The Tour which included an incredible 5 nights at The O2 in London, with a surprise guest appearance from grime king Stormzy. Their latest album ‘LM5’ was released in 2018 and includes hit single ‘Woman Like Me’, and standout tracks ‘Strip’ and ‘Wasabi’.
Little Mix have grown into both pop superstars and incredible role models for their young fans since they formed in 2011. They have released 5 albums and array of pop smashes like ‘Black Magic’, ‘Shout Out To My Ex’, ‘Power’, ‘Touch’ and ‘Secret Love Song’, plus collaborations with Nicki Minaj, Stormzy, Missy Elliott, Jason Derulo and more. They have won 2 BRIT Awards, earned themselves 4 UK no.1 singles and their 2016 album ‘Glory Days’ spent an impressive 5 weeks at the top spot in the UK albums chart.
Next summer, Little Mix fans can come together to celebrate their biggest festival headlining show yet at American Express presents BST Hyde Park. More artists to be announced.
