KIM PETRAS RETURNS WITH DEEPLY PERSONAL NEW SINGLE: ‘BROKEN’
*** The first taster from her new era ***
*** Kim Petras performs at Manchester Pride on 24 August***
Kim Petras has unveiled the eagerly-anticipated first single from her new era ‘Broken’ (listen here). The deeply personal new track shows a more vulnerable side to the ‘Heart to Break’ singer, who had previously collaborated with the likes of Charli XCX, SOPHIE and Cheat Codes.
On ‘Broken’, Kim’s signature powerhouse vocals soar over nocturnal urban beats, as she fires barbed lines at her ex: “Hope you’re happy with your new bitch, how you livin’? I’m in Paris in Marc Jacobs, life’s amazin’. When she leaves you for your best friend, that’s your karma.”
The rising singer-songwriter will be returning to the UK to perform at Manchester Pride on 24 August. Kim kicked off 2019 with a bang, releasing the final singles from her first era: ‘1,2,3 dayz up’ (feat. SOPHIE), ‘Homework’ (feat. lil aaron) and ‘If U Think About Me…’. She also played a string of sold-out headline shows in Australia, where she also co-headlined Sydney’s Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras and opened for Rita Ora in concert. She also announced a series of solo shows in North America – with European live dates to follow very soon. For all the latest tour dates visit: kimpetras.com
Since Kim broke out with ‘Heart to Break’, she has earned true cult status amongst pop music purists thanks to her brazen track record of fusing infectious melodies with heart-baring lyrics. She has amassed over 125 million streams to date, supported Troye Sivan on tour, and earned critical praise from The Guardian, Independent, Noisey, NME, i-D, Pitchfork, The New York Times and many more. Kim’s Halloween-themed mixtape ‘TURN OFF THE LIGHT VOL. 1’ (listen) smashed through over 1 million streams within five days and have clocked up over 7.5 million streams to date.
As a transgender artist in mainstream media, Kim continues to break
barriers for representation. She was recently nominated for a GLAAD Media
Award for Outstanding Music Artist, alongside Years & Years, Janelle
Monáe, and Christine & The Queens. Kim also made Forbes Europe’s 30
