Blue Raincoat Songs, the publishing arm of Blue Raincoat Music has signed three new artists on a global basis to their ever expanding roster

Joining eminent artists that include Let’s Eat Grandma, The Wandering Hearts, Nerina Pallot and William The Conqueror are:

BODEGA – A five piece band from Brooklyn they released their debut album “Endless Scroll” on the independent label What’s Your Rupture last year to huge critical acclaim and are already playing sold out shows at the likes of the Scala and recently undertook their third UK and European tour. This year will see a follow up release as well as further European dates and festivals in the summer. The band have been variously described as art rock and post punk and everything in between with influences ranging from The Velvet Underground, Television, Talking Heads and the B-52’s.

BEN DE VRIES – Ben is a writer/producer/arranger/performer who creates brilliant sonic soundscapes. He has worked with David Gray on his new record, co-producing the album and co-writing four tracks and is now a member of Gray’s touring band. Ben also has his own band Lunacre, for whom he is the writer and singer.

SELF ESTEEM – Self Esteem is the musical alter ego of Rebecca Taylor, former front woman in indie band Slow Club, who released five albums on Moshi and then Caroline Records between 2009-2016. Self Esteem is a very different musical proposition – big, bright, sassy pop songs undercut with acidic, biting lyrics and always laced with a strong sense of humour and irony. The album “Compliments please” is released on Fiction Records on March 1st

Jeremy Lascelles, CEO Blue Raincoat Music said, “ All three of these artists – Bodega, Rebecca and Ben – are creating brilliant, thrilling music of very varying styles. Our taste at BRS is pretty eclectic, but individuality and

a clear vision of who they are creatively is a pretty common theme amongst all of our signings. We are very excited to welcome all three to the Blue Raincoat family.”

Blue Raincoat Songs was founded by some of the most heavyweight figures in the business and is part of the Blue Raincoat Music Group of Companies, led by Jeremy Lascelles and legendary producer Robin Millar, with the backing of Chris Wright and former Virgin Entertainment Chairman Robert Devereux. Their stated aim is to bring back the true spirit of independent music to the industry.
