TRAVELS WITH BOWIE: GEOFF MACCORMACK IN CONVERSATION WITH DYLAN JONES
GQ editor Dylan Jones, hosted an evening at The Groucho Club on September 13th with famous Photographer Geoff MacCormack. Sharing his experience of working with Music Icon David Bowie, Geoff MacCormack discussed the last images he took of Bowie and their close friendship. The event took place at The Groucho Club on September 13th, and involved the auctioning off of a print signed by both Geoff and David Bowie in aid of Cancer Research UK.
Geoff featured on many of Bowie’s most revered recordings including ‘Aladdin Sane’, ‘Pin Ups’, ‘Diamond Dogs’, ‘David Live’, ‘Young Americans’, ‘Station To Station’ and the soon to be released ‘lost’ album from 1974, ‘The Gouster’. He also collaborated with Bowie co-composing ‘Rock ’n Roll With Me’ for ‘Diamond Dogs’ and ‘Turn Blue’ for Iggy Pop’s classic ‘Lust For Life’ album.
The images of Bowie by MacCormack were ones that only a trusted friend or confidante could capture and you can see these photographs published in the Genesis Publications book ‘From Station To Station: Travels With Bowie 1973-76’.
An auction at the event also took place to with all proceeds going to Cancer Research UK.
