THE WHO PERFORMS AT DESERT TRIP FESTIVAL
From the makers of Coachella, Desert Trip was the one unmissable festival that crowds flooded to from across the globe. Set in Indio, California, rock greats such as the Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney and Bob Dylan performed to many generations of fans that wanted to experience the musical magic from the late 1960s and early 1970s. The Who were also billed for Sunday 16th October and their performance alone was the highlight for many fans and press alike.
“You’ve come to watch old people dance,” Pete Townshend said to 70,000 people, as he took to the stage with the band. He later honoured the Who’s late bassist John Entwistle as a man “who died of complicated sexual and drug problems” and their even later drummer Keith Moon as “a fantastic wanker. Who said you can’t speak ill of the dead?”
