Management Team
Our 40 dedicated ‘Outsiders’ are PR professionals who work with some of the biggest global brand names in the world on a round the clock basis. But it doesn’t stop there. Our success and continued growth will see Outside embrace more top-flight communications experts in the near future.
Alan Edwards, CEO
Alan Edwards is broadly recognised as a media ‘kingpin’ in the music industry in the UK and further afield. Some of the biggest stars in the world (e.g. The Who, P. Diddy, Usher, Bowie, McCartney) have beaten a path to his door at The Outside Organisation. With his unrivalled contacts book, major celebrities, CEOs and Marketing Directors are happy to place the shaping of their respective images and brands in Edwards’ hands due to his ‘utter dependability’ coupled with the very best results on their behalf. His ability to secure the greatest PR in the best possible outlets has made him an industry legend.
Chris Goodman
Chris Goodman, Head of Music crossed the fence from journalism to PR in 2007. Leaving University, he started on work experience for the Sunday Express and never went home, becoming Music Editor at the paper, a post he held for four years. On joining Outside, Chris was thrown in at the deep end and he and his team have since taken on the likes of Led Zeppelin, Amy Winehouse, Spandau Ballet, Faryl Smith, Bon Jovi, the MOBO Awards and many more.
Lesley Land
Lesley Land heads up Channel 5’s Publicity Division having joined the agency from Taylor Herring in 2010. With over 10 years experience in TV & Entertainment PR, Lesley has led major campaigns for every UK terrestrial broadcaster and a huge variety of digital TV channels. Landmark PR campaigns include Doctor Who, The Apprentice, The Ivor Novello Awards, Fame Academy, Disney Home Entertainment and the launch of Google Street View.
Dan Deacon
Dan Deacon, Head of Talent oversees an array of talent within Outside – from new pop acts through to established artists and individuals. Having joined Outside in 2007, Dan’s team represents Katherine Jenkins, Shayne Ward, Grace Jones, Paul Oakenfold and Preeya Kalidas and an array of new acts including Jive Records’ latest signing, MYTOYBOX. Dan also oversees special projects such as the latest Michael Jackson album release.
Shoshanna Stone
Shoshanna is the latest member of the senior team to join the agency. She is Head of Outside Edge, a specialist music division.
With a degree in Music from The University of Liverpool, grade 8 in piano and a music teacher for a mother, music is pretty much in the blood for Shoshanna. Following her education, she joined EMI as Press Assistant, working on artists as Kylie, Jamelia and ColdPlay. In 2003, she moved to Sony as Press Officer, to work the PR for artists as Cypress Hill and John Legend – a move which was to mark a long standing working relationship with Legend who she continues to represent to this day. Soon after the Sony merger with BMG in 2004, Shoshanna worked with the likes of the Backstreet Boys. She moved to Sony label, RCA in 2006 and was promoted to Senior Press Officer, working with Shakira and Britney as well as continued her work with Legend. She was promoted to RCA’s Head of Publicity in 2008 and with her team of 8, was one of the first PR teams to represent clients across all media, away from compartmentalised PR which is synonymous across the music industry. In early 2011, Alan Edwards and Shoshanna launched a division of the Outside agency – Outside Edge – to offer a fully rounded and integrated service for her clients, bringing all aspects of their publicity under one roof.
