Breaking News

With a unique and varied client roster, which includes some of the biggest names in music, sport, TV, fashion, food and business we believe our relationships with the media are unrivalled. We know exactly what the media are looking for and we also know how to avoid what they are looking for!

In order to ensure the best possible media training for our clients we work directly with some of the industry’s best-known journalists. By doing this The Outside Organisation is also aware that the wrong kind of media training can be detrimental. Often people are media trained for the sake of being media trained which can have a negative effect.

At Outside we work with our clients to develop and build on their personalities. Like a good politician does, we believe it beneficial to control the interview as much as possible from the outset. Our clients should feel comfortable in any interview situation and we help them to do that and deliver the best interviews as a result.

Our clients should know exactly what they are walking into and what to expect from the journalist. They should be able to project confidence and energy. We also offer a special service in tabloid training, a notoriously difficult area of the UK media. Outside’s expertise in this area is second to none, having handled some of the biggest crises in the showbiz world of recent years. We also understand the importance of confidentiality. It goes without saying that anything that comes up in media training will never be repeated.

What Does It Involve?
There are a number of different services that we offer. Each one is tailor-made for each client. Be it preparing for a specific interview, such as an appearance on Parkinson, or a general media train for all areas of the press, Outside will put together the best option for each individual.

We will select a relevant journalist that we retain exclusively for this service e.g. If it involves the opening of a new restaurant we might match the client with a top name food critic or we would put a Premiership footballer with a heavyweight sports writer. The sessions will also include a general media overview with senior members of our staff.

The services we offer are:

  • Filmed interview with evaluation
  • General press interview with feedback
  • Interview tips and techniques includes dealing with awkward questions.
  • Simple techniques to avoid taboo subjects
  • Body language analysis
  • How to communicate key messages
  • How to prepare for an interview - includes suggested appearance and choice of location
  • How to deal/connect with a journalist
  • Tabloid training
  • Creation of new biography

We will give a full breakdown and analysis of the media training session with practical tips for developing and practising interview techniques.
