KEVIN RICHARDSON SET TO REJOIN THE BACKSTREET BOYS

THE BIGGEST SELLING BOY BAND OF ALL TIME RETURN AS A 5 PIECE

The Backstreet Boys announced last night, at NKOTBSB 2nd sold out date at The O2, that Kevin would be rejoining them in July when they come to London to record their new album.

Following their massively successful UK leg of their worldwide Tour – having joined forces with iconic band the New Kids on the Block, creating supergroup NKOTBSB – Aj, Nick, Howie and Brian announced live on stage, in front the arena’s capacity of 20000 and in front of the thousands watching across the world (as the show was streamed live and in HD to cinemas and facebook accounts worldwide) that not only would they be returning to London to record their 8th album but that Kevin, who left the band in 2006, will be returning.

The response that followed was nothing short of hysteria, which was only amplified when AJ announced that we was a ‘daddy to be’; a momentous night to finish off a momentous UK tour.

For close to 20 years, Backstreet Boys have delivered the very finest pop music has to offer – tightly crafted songs, floor-shaking rhythms, and unmistakable harmonies. They are the biggest selling boyband of all time with worldwide sales in excess of 100 million, and had countless number 1′s and Top Tens including ‘We’ve got it Goin’On’ , ‘I’ll Never Break Your Heart’, ‘Quit Playing Games (With My Heart)’, ‘As Long as You Love Me’, ‘Everybody’, ‘All I Have to Give’, ‘I Want it That Way’, ‘Larger Than Life’, ‘Show Me the Meaning of Being Lonely’, ‘The Call’, to name but a handful…..

With the announcement of the NKOTBSB UK tour causing pandemonium up and down the country, Backstreet Boys and New Kids on the Block have been forced to add a second London date to meet demand from fans. With tickets for their first London show quickly selling out, NKOTBSB will play The O2 on Sunday 29 April offering fans another chance to see two of the greatest boy bands in history, together on one stage. Tickets for the second London date go on sale tomorrow at 9am through www.aeglive.co.uk – tickets still available for the rest of the tour.

“Our fans want us overseas, so that is what we will do,” said New Kids’ Donnie Wahlberg. “We have such dedicated fans, and they continue to come out for us time and time again. Our international fans have been flying to see us stateside for years, so now we are coming to them!”

“Europe is like a second home for Backstreet so we are all excited to finally be bringing this show to all our fans there. NKOTBSB is going international,” added Nick Carter from the Backstreet Boys. “We can’t wait to get over there and show everyone the fun we’ve been having all summer long.”

The European leg will bring the historic NKOTBSB tour to 18 stops, giving fans across the globe chances to catch their favorite groups on one stage. Fans overseas can finally see what North American Press hailed as “One of the hottest tickets of the summer,” as described by OK! Magazine. Entertainment Weekly raved: “Each tune was performed with the same energy, crotch-grabbing, and hip-thrusting that turned these groups into teens sensations years ago. NKOTBSB may well be the tastiest musical mouthful of the summer.”

Produced by AEG, the NKOTBSB Tour begins April 20, 2012 with confirmed shows through May 14th. Further ticket and tour information for all dates is available at www.aeglive.co.uk.

NKOTBSB first shocked and delighted fans when they took the stage together for a medley at the sold out NKOTB Radio City Music Hall show. The two groups wowed audiences again in their first joint televised performance at the American Music Awards almost a year ago in November 2010 and have toured consistently through 2011 since coming together.

With over 200 million albums sold between both bands, and smash hit after smash hit, these two pop sensations have dominated the music scene for over three decades. Aiming to please, these guys are giving concert goers and diehard fans everywhere the ultimate ‘night out’ experience.
