NOVAK DJOKOVIC NAMED LAUREUS SPORTSMAN OF THE YEAR

Laureus Sports Awards

Novak Djokovic has been acclaimed Laureus World Sportsman of the Year after a remarkable 12 months which has seen him lose just six of his 76 matches including winning three Grand Slam events – the Australian Open, Wimbledon and the US Open.

It is the sixth time in eight years that the award has gone to a tennis player, as voted for by a jury of 47 sporting greats.

Novak beat off competition from world footballer of the year Lionel Messi, Tour de France winner Cadel Evans, former two-time winner Usain Bolt, NBA star Dirk Nowitzki and F1 world champion Sebastian Vettel.

The previous winners have been Roger Federer (four times), Tiger Woods, Michael Schumacher and Bolt (each twice), Lance Armstrong and Rafa Nadal.

DJOKOVIC TRIUMPHS IN THE LONGEST FINAL IN GRAND SLAM TENNIS HISTORY

Outside would like to congratulate Novak Djokovic on his victory at the Australian Open, winning 5-7, 6-4, 6-2, 6-7, 7-5.

After a near six-hour battle, making it the longest final in Grand Slam history, the Serbian defeated rival Rafael Nadal, retaining his title and further cementing his status as the world’s number one tennis player.

Some even called it “one of the greatest sporting performances of the age,” one of the foremost athletic feats in an era widely considered as the greatest ever for men’s tennis.

Djokovic will now have to wait until Paris in the spring to see if he can make history again and hold all four major Grand Slam prizes at once, an achievement not seen for over 40 years.

WORLD NUMBER 1 NOVAK DJOKOVIC IMPRESSES AT AUSSIE OPEN

Novak Djokovic eased through his quarter-final at the Australian Open, despite carrying a minor injury.  In the first major tournament of the year, the world number one beat David Ferrer 6-4 7-6 (7-4) 6-1 to set up what promises to be a gripping semi-final against Andy Murray on Friday…

BBC Tennis Correspondent Jonathan Overend made this assessment -

“This was another amazing match from Djokovic, full of the sort of stuff which won him all sorts in 2011. Some of his defensive retrieving – particularly from his forehand corner – is reinventing the sport. No wonder he gets the odd injury here and there. I felt a bit sorry for Ferrer. How he finished the match without a set to his name I don’t know. This was a perfect illustration of how Djokovic is dominating the sport right now, even if not 100%.”

Outside will be watching and wishing Novak the very best of luck in defence of his title.

A glamorous Christmas read from the Sunday Times bestselling author, Katie Price, featuring her most popular character, Angel

Santa Baby front cover - high res

Katie Price

SANTA BABY

To be published by Century in hardback on October 27 at £16.99

Angel Summer is Katie’s most popular character.  We first met her when she was Britain’s No 1 glamour model in Katie’s first novel, ANGEL, and then in ANGEL UNCOVERED.   Now in Katie’s seventh and latest novel, SANTA BABY, Angel’s glamour days are behind her, she’s happily married to Cal and hoping to have another baby. But, as ever, drama is just around the corner, when Angel meets her half sister Tiffany for the time…..

As soon as they meet, Angel and Tiffany feel as if they’ve know each other for years, and before she knows it, Tiffany is working as a stylist on Angel’s TV  programme, and going out with Raul, a Brazilian racing driver who has all the girls after him.

If only Angel’s sexy bodyguard Sean could be as welcoming.  Obviously he has things on his mind, like the kidnap threat hanging over Angel and her daughter Honey.   As everyone gathers at Angel and Cal’s mansion for Christmas, Sean’s defences finally drop.  But as he relaxes, Tiffany finds herself in terrible danger….

With sales of her books in excess of 4.5 million copies, Katie Price is firmly established as one of Britain’s bestselling authors.

In addition to her hugely successful autobiographies, Katie is the author of 6 published novels and is one of the UK’s top selling women’s fiction authors.

Other celebrities have tried, but none have succeeded like Katie.  Not only have all her books been bestsellers, they have all reached No 1 within a week of publication.

Katie makes no secret of the fact that she writes in partnership with Rebecca Farnworth. The two of them have worked together since her first autobiography and every book has been a bestseller.  Commenting on their partnership Katie said: “Real teamwork goes in to the writing of my books and for the novels Rebecca and I have such fun working out the storylines together.  I’ve absolutely loved writing SANTA BABY with her as it features Angel, my favourite character.  She was Britain’s No 1 glamour model when I first introduced her to my readers.  Her glamour days are behind her now and she’s taking her tv career seriously but as ever her life is full of drama.   Ring any bells?!!”

SANTA BABY is Katie’s 7th novel.  As with all her previous novels, it’s a glamorous, glitzy read with a genuine insight into the celebrity world.  A definite ‘must-have’ read for snuggling up on the sofa by a nice warm fire.

Katie Price is one of the UK’s top celebrities. She was formally the glamour model Jordan and is now a bestselling author, successful businesswoman and star of her own reality TV show. Katie is a Patron of Vision Charity and currently lives in Sussex with her three children.

Untitled

October, 2011: Katie Price has teamed up with Store Twenty One to create an exclusive new label called Katie’s Boutique. More than 70 lingerie, nightwear and swimwear designs will be launched in four phases, the first of which will hit the shelves of the brand’s leading stores in early November.

Katie Price says, ‘Modelling really helps you understand what looks good and what doesn’t – especially with lingerie and swimwear – and I’m really excited about the range.  Working with Store Twenty One has not only given me the opportunity to put everything I’ve learnt about lingerie, nightwear and swimwear into practice, but I’ve made sure that the whole collection will be amazingly affordable.’

The initial launch of Katie’s Boutique will be a collection of lingerie, including plunge and balconette bras with matching briefs which feature seductive lace and other fabrics in a range of colours. Sizes range from 34B to 38DD and from 10 to 18.  Some of the shorts have detachable suspenders and there is one thong style.  A second wave of lingerie will be launched in February, adding new colours to the range as well as a booster bra.

The second launch, in November, will be a range of nightwear. With an emphasis on casual comfort, the range is embellished with gems and foil prints, while stripes work together with badges to create a collegiate theme.

The swimwear collection in Katie’s Boutique will launch in February 2012 and includes four swimsuits and seven matching bikini tops and bottoms, available to buy separately.  Finally, a second wave of swimwear will be launched at the end of March 2012, featuring four more bikinis, matching kaftans and even a beach bag.

Sam Ashcroft, Senior Buyer at Store Twenty One, says, ‘It’s been great fun working with Katie, she has been very involved in the design of the range, selecting and picking trims and developing her signature crown logo, which features on every piece.  The range represents Katie’s fun, flirty and feminine personality.  Here at Store Twenty One we are very excited to be working with Katie and are looking forward to a successful launch and further collaborations including nightwear and swimwear’.

Despite the challenging economic conditions, Store Twenty One has been growing fast and now has 218 stores across the UK – with more large stores in the pipeline.  Teaming up with Katie Price is another example of how the brand is continuing to innovate and breathe new life into the British high street.

Katie’s Boutique is unique by being arguably the most affordable celebrity fashion range of the moment.   By recognising the need to support the UK high street in the current economic climate, Katie Price’s affordable range offers her personal trademark designs at prices which suit current consumer trends.   The range will be available to purchase in 50 Store Twenty One branches nationwide and online at www.storetwentyone.co.uk.  With items in the range starting from £3.99, Katie’s Boutique provides a distinctive range of lingerie for all styles and budgets without compromising on quality.  The collaboration reflects Store Twenty One’s aim of bringing the heart back to the British High Street by promising great fashion at unrivalled value.
