Upcoming US star Nathan Pacheco joins Katherine Jenkins on her 2012 UK Daydream Tour

London, 25 November 2011
Katherine Jenkins today announces that upcoming Disney classical crossover artist, Nathan Pacheco, will be joining her as special guest on her 2012 nationwide British leg of the Daydream tour.
The 27 date tour kicks off on January 7th 2012 in Oxford, concluding on February 16th in London. Katherine is thrilled to be welcoming Nathan on her UK tour, where she will perform tracks from her current best selling album, Daydream, as well as fan favourites from her previous studio albums.
Straddling two divergent worlds – pop and opera – Nathan Pacheco creates a new musical world all his own. Though best known in the U.S for his singing, Nathan is also an avid composer. He has just completed his debut album, writing and collaborating with multi-platinum composer/producer Leo-Z (Andrea Bocelli, Josh Groban). The album will be released in 2012.
“When my management suggested that Nathan joined me as a special guest on the tour and played me his record, I jumped at the chance. He’s got the most beautiful voice, powerful and emotive, and really looking forward to having him on tour with me”.
Such was their instant musical connection, that Katherine has recorded a duet with Nathan, a recording of “O Holy Night”, which was released in the U.S this week.
The Washington DC native, who has already performed across North America, cannot wait to come to British shores:
Says Nathan “I am beyond excited to be able to sing with Katherine on her upcoming tour. She’s a true star, in every sense of the word, and I’m excited to have the privilege of performing with her throughout the UK. And I must say that after being mesmerized at Air Studios in London and charmed by the countryside in Nottingham, I cannot wait to see more of the United Kingdom and sing my heart out in every show.”
As one of the UK’s best-loved artists, with album sales in excess of 5 million copies, her new album, Daydream, reflects her success here and abroad (her last album Believe went platinum in many countries) and signals the start of the next stage of her life.

Katherine Jenkins announces new double A side single Can’t Slow Down / Black Is The Colour, released December 12th

Taken from the Warner Brothers album, Daydream
Welsh mezzo-soprano Katherine Jenkins today announces the double A side single taken from her stunning Top 10 album, Daydream, entitled Can’t Slow Down/ Black Is The Colour.
Released December 5th, the John Shanks penned Can’t Slow Down was recorded in sun kissed Los Angeles earlier this year. As Katherine comments, “It started out in its original demo form as a country tune, about not being able to stop yourself falling in love. But we worked on it and turned it into something more my style”.
The second single, Black Is The Colour, is an epic Scottish folk song that has been covered by artists as diverse as Nina Simone and Joan Baez. Recorded at Air Studios in London, Katherine recalls –
“I discovered it through an Irish friend of mine, who suggested I listen to the Christy Moore version. As soon as I heard it I said to myself: that’s going to be the first track on my next album. It’s such a beautiful song about unrequited love. The line that really hooked me was: “And I really love the ground where on he stands” – that’s such a romantic thing to say! Christy Moore sings a simple acoustic arrangement but we wanted it to start intimately and build into a really Celtic-sounding showstopper with Uillean pipes and fiddles. I first sang it for 10,000 people at concerts in Ireland and the reaction was overwhelming.”
Katherine who is currently on an international promotional tour for her new album, will also be touring the UK on her first theatre tour in three years early next year. Her 22-city tour will see Katherine up close and personal with fans new and old.
Daydream, her most personal album to date, draws together music and songs she loves from across classical, traditional, folk and easy pop that have inspired her over the course of her life.
As The Sun newspaper declared in their 5 star album review; “all the Jenkins hallmarks of professionalism are here in spades – soaring tunes, immaculate recordings, turbo charged orchestral support”.
Capturing what audiences love about Katherine – her astonishing vocal range, her championing of great songs, always willing to test new ground – Daydream reflects on the exciting stage that she now has reached in her life and career.
Can’t Slow Down / Black Is The Colour is released December 12th on Warner Bros Records. Daydream, the album, is out now.

Katherine Jenkins announces her new album Daydream

London, 01 August 2011
Katherine Jenkins, the record-breaking multi platinum selling mezzo soprano, today announces the release of her eighth studio album. Planned for an October 10th 2011 release on Warner Bros Records, Daydream sees Katherine return to her musical roots.
Her most personal album to date, it draws together music and songs she loves from across classical, traditional, folk and easy pop that have inspired her over the course of her life.
Recorded in Los Angeles and London in spring this year, Katherine has once again teamed up with John Shanks in the U.S (credits include Take That & Westlife and Katherine’s hit 2010 single Tell Me I’m Not Dreaming), and Simon Franglen in London (credits include Barbra Streisand, Céline Dion and the Oscar nominated soundtrack to James Cameron’s Avatar).
Capturing what audiences love about Katherine – her astonishing vocal range, her championing of great songs, always willing to test new ground – Daydream reflects on the exciting stage that she now has reached in her life and career.
Stand out tracks on the album include the stunning Shanks produced Break It To My Heart, a deeply moving interpretation of the Celtic classic Black Is The Colour, I Dreamed A Dream from Les Misérables rarely performed in French, a brand new composition of Ave Maria and Katherine’s stirring tribute to servicing men and women through the ages A Flower Tells A Story.

Katherine Jenkins pledges support for rebuilding of her hometown arts centre with ‘Engagement Gift’

Welsh classical crossover artist Katherine Jenkins has today been announced as President Of The Friends Of The Gwyn Hall in Neath, a registered charity whose aim is to support the rebuild programme of Neath’s only arts, music and cultural centre, that was ravaged by fire in 2008.
Forever a supporter of the arts Katherine, who has recently finished her World Tour, has pledged to support the programme and help fast track its renovation to become once again a vocal point in the local community, a venue which has personal memories for Katherine.
Katherine has donated a substantial fee, giving her appearance fee from her TV interview with Piers Morgan’s Life Stories in 2009, what she calls her ‘engagement gift’ back to the town to thank it for all its support.
Says Katherine “The Gwyn Hall in Neath was always a place that excited me as a young singer, it spurred me on and gave me something to dream about. It is so very important that the young performers and future stars of South Wales have a stage on which to perform… I am eternally grateful that I was able to perform at The Gwyn Hall and I am happy to do what I can to help ensure others can too. I recently got engaged so this also is my engagement gift back to the town that has always been so important in my life”.
Says Alan Lockyer, Chair of The Friends Of Gwyn Hall, Neath “We are absolutely delighted that Katherine has accepted to be a president of the ‘Friends’. To have such an eminent performer from our own home town is fantastic. Coupled with her extremely generous donation, we are so much nearer to rebuilding and improving the Music, Arts and Drama in our town”.
Katherine Jenkins to release ‘Believe – The Platinum Edition’
The last year has been classical crossover star Katherine Jenkins’ biggest yet. From releasing her biggest album to date – the David Foster produced Believe – selling out her first solo UK Arena tour, being a guest judge on ITV1’s hit entertainment show, Popstar To Operastar, to filming her first acting role in the forthcoming Dr Who Christmas Special, 2010 was a vintage year for the award-winning Welsh Mezzo-Soprano.
Also releasing her album internationally, she took her unique talent to all corners of the globe including South America and Australia, which has helped position Katherine as one of the UK’s most successful recording artists of the last decade.
To mark the success of this record, Warner Bros Records will release Believe: The Platinum Edition, containing four new tracks and the special bonus DVD, ‘A Year In The Life Of Believe’, on November 29th 2010.
In addition to the original Believe repertoire including The Theme From The Godfather, Angel and Bring Me To Life comes the breathtaking new track Tell Me I’m Not Dreaming (produced by John Shanks) , a unique take on the Chris Martin penned epic, Gravity, also produced by John Shanks, as well as the traditional Christmas recording In The Bleak Midwinter. As an additional bonus there is a special live recording of her sensational duet with Michael Bolton of O Holy Night, recorded in Scandinavia last year.
The DVD film documentary includes all her promo videos from the Believe campaign (Bring Me To Life, Angel, Love Never Dies), two full live tracks from her London O2 show, international TV appearances, video diaries from her Argentina promo tour and much more. She also candidly discusses where it all began with David Foster, as well as working with Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber this year on her version of the theme to Love Never Dies
Next year big plans continue for Katherine as she starts work on her eighth studio album and continues to tour internationally.
