The Outside Organisation

Integrated PR is, and always has been, part of Outside’s PR philosophy from the get go. We’ve worked with major US acts for nearly four decades now. They have always treated the broken up publicity approach with incredulity. At Outside a publicist is a publicist regardless of the media. We have always seen TV, radio, press and of course on-line as different parts of the same function. In fact, Outside formed the first truly integrated print, TV and radio PR company in the mid 90s when they hired the entire Virgin promotion team, which included well known executives, Tony Barker, Mick Garbutt and a young Charlie Lycett. We then went onto deliver many fully integrated campaigns from David Bowie to The Spice Girls to Q Magazine.
Around that time, Outside’s CEO Alan Edwards started working with a young on-line whizz kid, Anthony Cauchi. Together they went onto form Outside Line which grew into a large and very successful business.
These PR functions are one and the same as far as we’re concerned. A fully dots joined policy provides a far faster and more efficient service for both clients and the media. After all, which agent or manager wants to be calling up five different people to enquire about how their individual campaigns are going and then be faced with the almost impossible challenge of trying to work out how it all hangs together. It’s absolutely crucial that the left hand knows what the right hand is doing and that everything is geared towards the same goal ie the client’s success. As opposed to people developing individual fiefdom’s and all that goes with that. It couldn’t be more relevant now in these austere times with it’s large cost saving potential and super fast with an integrated approach.
Without question Outside introduced this approach to PR in the UK and are still the number one exponents of this approach as the many multi media campaigns they have run in 2011 illustrated. They included The Q Awards, Alice Cooper, Naomi Campbell, Fashion for Relief, Cosmopolitan Woman of the Year Awards, Embassy launch in Dubai, Mobos, War of the Worlds, Rock of Ages and Outside Edge’s Britney Spears and Lenny Kravitz. Outside also handle a number of television accounts including Channel 5 and Big Brother.
We believe that Outside is a unique proposition, occupying a space all of our own. Through our creative, hard work, enthusiasm and innovation. We have created an agency where positive results are achieved as a matter of course.
